It is with great excitement that we announce a special Orchard Table Dinner at JoieFarm Tuesday, August 21, 2018. This event will both honour the culinary beginnings of JoieFarm and celebrate the inspiration that chefs Brian Skinner and Lina Caschetto have brought to the farm in 2018.
Joie has been pursuing the harmony of food and wine since its culinary beginnings in 2003. First as an on-farm cooking school offering long table orchard dinners; then continuing to explore the Germanic and Burgundian grape varietals that thrive in our cool-climate, lake-moderated desert terroir and compliment the cuisine of the pacific Northwest.
After 15 years of dedicated winemaking, Heidi has actively spent the summer of 2018 cooking with her partner JJ Skidmore, Chef Brian Skinner and Lina Caschetto. Chef Brian Skinner joined us while he prepares to open his new restaurant venture in Kelowna in the late autumn. Heidi and JJ met Lina this past March in Arles, France while eating and being inspired to create a new wine pairing menu of small plates to amplify the JoieFarm wine portfolio for tasting room guests. Having kept in touch, Lina joins Joie for the month of August. We all have enjoyed a summer of exploring the Okanagan’s bounty, creating dishes both traditional and modern, all with the very best intention of putting a hyper-local, seasonal food forward.
We are thrilled to announce a collaborative dinner with each of us taking a course to celebrate the late summer bounty of the Naramata Bench and a chance to showcase new wines.
Small production JoieFarm wines will be paired with each course.
