While some wineries save their reserve label for their premium wines, we make all of our wines with the highest standards. With our core wines lying at the heart of our production, our 'En Famille' Reserve Collection are made in limited quantities and are grown on select, single vineyard sites . The collection is a combination of estate sites, old vine sites and sites that exemplify our unique cool climate, lake moderated terroir.
Our two estate varietals, Muscat and Gewürztraminer, were planted by Heidi and her brother, are maintained by members of our core team, and are hand-picked by several generations of Heidi's family, as well as the families of our staff members in the Joie tradition of these beautiful wines.
Our Riesling and Reserve Chardonnay, are two projects close to Heidi's heart. Our Riesling is made in a Spätlese style using 40 year-old vines with six months of fine lees contact. The result is an off-dry, mouth-wateringly juicy Riesling with an intense core of fresh limey-ginger flavour intensity. Our Reserve Chardonnay comes from old-vines located in the Skaha Bluffs. This wine is barrel-fermented with ambient yeast and spontaneous malolactic fermentations happening in a blend of premium French barriques and puncheons with only a judicious amount of new oak used. It is juicy, intensly flavoured and finishes with a savoury complexity.
Our Reserve Pinot Noir is a clonal selection, with the grapes sourced from select Naramata Bench vineyard sites chosen for their qualities belonging to the smaller berried Dijon and heritage clones. The En Famille Pinot Noir shows pretty floral aromas, bright cherry fruit, juicy acidity and sophisticated fine tannins achieved through meticulous canopy management and low yields. The wine is aged for 8 months in barrel (40% new barrels, 60% neutral Burgundian oak) on fine lees. This is an ideal wine for autumn mushrooms and other rich, savoury flavours of cold weather dishes.

This summer, we are proud to offer a new culinary experience on the Naramata Bench: Le Comptoir at Joie Picnique. After 15 years of dedicated winemaking, Heidi has actively spent the summer cooking with her partner JJ Skidmore, Chef Brian Skinner and Lina Caschetto.
